The Technical Advisory Committee of the Asphalt Institute released a new guidance document entitled “Determination of Laboratory Mixing and Compaction Temperatures for Hot-Mix Asphalt” this week.
The 4-page document makes recommendations for maximum mixing and compaction temperatures in the laboratory. These temperatures are intended for determining design volumetric properties of asphalt mixtures.
