Pine of Heritage Research receives ILAPA Award

Bill Pine of the Heritage Research Group was named the “2007 Most Active Member” by the Illinois Asphalt Pavement Association’s (ILAPA) for his work on the Bailey Method. The Bailey Method is a system for the evaluation of the volumetrics and compactability of asphalt mixtures.

ILAPA acknowledged Pine’s “untiring efforts” to promote use of the Bailey Method in the U.S. and around the world. Pine’s dedication and generosity to the industry was also noted as he donates his income from the classes that he teaches in Illinois to ILAPA’s Scholarship Fund.

The ILAPA award has been given annually for 32 years and the list of past recipients reads like a “who’s who” of the asphalt industry in Illinois.
