The Asphalt Institute is pleased to announce that Phil Blankenship has accepted the position of Senior Research Engineer in the Asphalt Institute?s Research and Laboratory Services Division beginning March 1.
Phil has a BSCE and MSCE from the University of Kentucky. His thesis work was done at AI during the SHRP effort and his work was the basis for the N-design compaction levels adopted by Superpave. Phil was employed by the Kentucky Department of Highways for two years before joining Koch Materials and then SemMaterials for the last 10 years.
