Two new titles debuted this month in the Asphalt Institute (AI) online store.
The much-anticipated second edition of “IS-230, The Bitumen Industry – a Global Perspective” is now available in both print and PDF formats. You can buy a hard copy for $25. The PDF version is free.
The book is a result of collaboration between Eurobitume and Asphalt Institute. IS-230 concisely describes the production, chemistry use, specification and occupational exposure of bitumen. The book is considered a key resource for scientists studying asphalt.
AI’s popular “MS-16 Asphalt in Pavement Preservation and Maintenance” is now available in a Spanish version. “MS-16S El asfalto en la preservation y el mantenimiento de pavimentos” is available for $60.
The manual provides practical information on methods, equipment and terminology involving the use of asphalt in maintenance of all types of pavement structures. The Spanish version can be helpful for many bilingual work forces in pavement construction.
