The Asphalt Institute is pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Danny Gierhart as a new Asphalt Institute Regional Engineer. Gierhart brings to our team 24 years of asphalt experience and knowledge stemming from his 20 years with the Oklahoma DOT, nine of which he served as their Bituminous Engineer. He also has held the positions of ODOT’s Mix Design Lab Manager, Research Project Manager and Construction Inspector.
Gierhart also stepped away from ODOT in the middle of his career to be the Materials Engineer for a large asphalt contractor in Oklahoma where he was responsible for their AMRL accredited lab, mix designs and entire QC program. Gierhart’s new AI office will be in Oklahoma City, OK where he and Bob Horan (in Virginia) will share the region consisting of the Southeastern Asphalt User Producer Group states.
