AI Field Engineer Gary Fitts has been working in Louisiana with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, the Louisiana Asphalt Pavement Association and contractor’s personnel to develop recommendations for an asphalt paving alternate for a project on US 190 in Mandeville, LA. Bids were recently opened for this project and it appears that the asphalt alternate was selected by the two lowest bidders on the job, which is a difficult urban arterial reconstruction project.
