The Asphalt Pavement Association of Iowa (APAI) is promoting hot mix asphalt at the new Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa. The “Asphalt, The Smooth Ride” logo is now prominently displayed in a 10′ x 15′ area above the scoring pylon at the speedway. The sign is backlit and rotates 180° and can even be seen from Interstate 80. To further publicize its message, APAI created “The Smooth Ride” car, which was on display at the Speedway during its inaugural race on Sept. 15 – 17. APAI is also offering a “Where’s the Smooth Ride Car?” photo identification contest on its web site.
